Yankees broadcaster John Sterling goes with, "It is high, it is far, it is gone," on home runs. The Giants' Jon Miller opts for "Adios, pelota!" Former White Sox broadcaster Hawk Harrelson's catchphrase was, "You can put it on the board, yes!"

All are fine. But the best new home run call comes from Astros manager Dusty Baker.

Baker was on the microphone in the bottom of the third inning for an in-game interview during Game 1 of the ALDS on Monday between the Astros and A's. So, when Oakland's Sean Murphy smashed a deep drive high over the center-field wall, Baker didn't care that there was another question getting queued up for him. He could only exclaim, "Oh lord!"

Baker knows a thing or two about home runs, having hit 242 of them in his big league career. Getting him to drop that exclamation should make Murphy feel pretty good. Murphy's dinger travelled 414 feet, and had an exit velocity of 104.7 mph.

Of course, Baker also noted that the ball was "flying out of here ... That's what the A's do: They walk and hit homers."

That certainly seemed to be the case, as the clubs combined for six homers. The Astros won Game 1, 10-5.
