Flaherty returns from injury, Smith close
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Ryan Flaherty returned to the Orioles' starting lineup on Friday night as the versatile infielder/outfielder has been battling shoulder soreness that has sidelined him from Grapefruit League games since March 13.
"I'm a full [go]," Flaherty said. "Whenever [manager Buck Showalter] wants to use me. But it feels 100 percent. It was good to get a couple of days off, even with the off-day [Thursday]."
Seth Smith, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury for about two weeks, is expected to return on Saturday. Smith has dealt with this issue in springs prior, but the O's will be cautious in moving him along in the final week of camp. Right now, his Opening Day-readiness isn't in jeopardy.
Wade Miley, who was scratched from his last start due to illness, threw on Thursday's off-day, and Showalter said that went well, though the lefty was fatigued toward the end. Miley could make his next start in a Minor League game.
Chris Tillman (shoulder) remains scheduled to start a throwing program on Sunday.
