KANSAS CITY -- The decade is nearing its close, and there were plenty of memorable moments for Royals fans.

And that included many unforgettable home runs.

Let’s take a look at the top 10 dingers of the decade:

1. Alex Gordon's World Series game-tying homer
Oct. 27, 2015

Few homers in the history of the Royals were more electrifying than Alex Gordon's bottom-of-the-ninth blast off Mets closer Jeurys Familia, a shot that tied the score at 4. The Royals went on to win 5-4 in 14 innings and take Game 1 of the World Series.

2. Mike Moustakas wins Game 1 of ALDS vs. Angels
Oct. 2, 2014

Fresh off the crazy Wild Card win over the A’s, the Royals didn’t lay down in Game 1 of the ALDS against the heavily favored Angels. Mike Moustakas didn’t let them, sending a home run to right in the 11th inning to pave the way for a 3-2 win.

3. Eric Hosmer wins Game 2 of ALDS vs. Angels
Oct. 3, 2014

Can you say déjà vu? Twenty-four hours after his close friend Moustakas beat the Angels in extra innings, Eric Hosmer rifled a two-run homer into the right-field seats, helping the Royals to a 4-1, 11-inning win over the Angels in Game 2 of the ALDS. The Royals took a commanding 2-0 lead in the series.

4. Gordon strikes again in the ALCS
Oct. 10, 2014

The magical postseason ride continued at Baltimore in Game 1 of the ALCS as Gordon blasted a home run in the 10th inning, leading the Royals to an 8-6 win. Moustakas hit a two-run homer later in the inning.

5. Kendrys Morales seals a series win over Astros
Oct. 14, 2015

After the incredible rally in Game 4 of the ALDS in Houston, the Royals wrapped up the series, 7-2, aided by Kendrys Morales' clinching three-run bomb in the eighth off Dallas Keuchel. Fans will never forget Morales skipping to first base.

6. Alcides Escobar gets World Series started
Oct. 27, 2015

#EskyMagic was the popular Twitter hashtag after Alcides Escobar was moved into the leadoff spot that season, and he displayed some magic in the first inning of the World Series, delivering an inside-the-park home run to get things started.

7. Eric Hosmer’s insurance blast in ALDS Game 4
Oct. 12, 2015

After the Royals’ miracle five-run rally in the eighth inning of Game 4 of the ALDS in Houston gave them a 7-6 lead, Hosmer provided needed insurance in the ninth with a two-run, 452-foot blast, assuring the Royals were headed back to Kansas City for Game 5.

8. Soler breaks Moose's record
Sept. 3, 2019

Designated hitter Jorge Soler's march toward Royals history became complete when he belted his 39th home run, breaking the Royals’ single-season home run record set by Moustakas in 2017.

9. Moustakas breaks 32-year-old record
Sept. 20, 2017

Steve Balboni’s single-season home run record of 36 had stood for 32 years until this night in Toronto when Moustakas, in his last full season with the Royals, clobbered No. 37.

10. Alex Gordon walks off the Twins
Aug. 26, 2014

Gordon’s walk-off two-run homer in the ninth was significant because manager Ned Yost called out the fans afterward, which caused a stir: “I mean, what, 13,000 people got to see a great game?” Yost said, sarcastically. Coincidentally, attendance was not a problem again that season or the next.
