In anticipation of MLB Opening Day, the Kansas City Royals and MLB are hosting a “Road to Opening Day” event at the University of Missouri-Kansas City on Tuesday.

The event, which is part of a league-wide campaign to celebrate Opening Day and all of the various ways fans can enjoy baseball, will award fans with free collectibles, ballpark-themed snacks, a chance to rub elbows with baseball greats and team mascots, and other surprises.

The Royals’ “Road to Opening Day” event is scheduled to take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday. It will be held on the campus of UMKC at 5030 Holmes Street. If inclement weather is in the forecast, the event will be moved to UMKC’s Student Union.

The Royals will begin their 2022 regular season on Thursday against the Cleveland Guardians. First pitch from Kauffman Stadium is scheduled for 3:10 p.m.
