SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The Royals on Wednesday released outfielder Travis Snider from his Minor League contract.
Snider, 28, was somewhat of a long shot to make the club, especially with the emergence of outfielders Reymond Fuentes and Whit Merrifield in camp.
Snider batted .262 this spring with two homers. The Royals may hope to re-sign him to a Minor League deal for outfield depth at Triple-A Omaha.
