DENVER -- The Rockies and Padres will take turns visiting each other to open their regular-season home schedules in 2020.
The Rockies' season will begin at Petco Park on March 26 in the opener of a four-game series and a seven-game road trip. Then, Colorado's Coors Field opener will be against San Diego on April 3 -- a traditional Friday home-opening date -- to begin a three-game series and a five-game homestand.
The 2020 schedule will pair the Rockies with the American League Central in Interleague Play. Schedules announced on Monday are preliminary, and all dates and home game times are subject to change. The Rockies will distribute 2020 schedule magnets to fans before their game against the Brewers on Sep. 27.
Next season, the Rockies will be at home for Mother’s Day on May 10 against the Reds, Memorial Day on May 25 against the Dodgers, Father’s Day on June 21 against the Padres, Independence Day on July 4 against the Giants and Labor Day on Sept. 7 against the Cubs. Fireworks shows are set for July 3 and 4 against the Giants, and Sept. 25 after the game against the D-backs.
The Rangers will make the first Interleague Play visit April 7-8, followed by the White Sox on April 28-29, the Royals on June 22-24 and the Indians on Sept. 4-6.
Going into the All-Star break, the Rockies will play four games at Milwaukee July 9-12, with the Midsummer Classic at Dodger Stadium on July 14. And the Trade Deadline on July 31 will feature a 6:40 p.m. MT home game against the Giants.
The season ends with a six-game homestand -- Dodgers on Sept. 22-24 and D-backs on Sept. 25-27.
