CINCINNATI -- Reds pitcher Jon Moscot underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery Tuesday on his right elbow.
Moscot, who was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on June 7 after he went 0-3 with an 8.02 ERA in five starts, has endured an injury-riddled past two seasons. He was placed on Louisville's disabled list on July 5.
The procedure, to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in Moscot's elbow, was performed by team medical director, Dr. Timothy Kremchek. Also removed were loose bone fragments.

In June of last season, three starts into his big league career, Moscot separated his left non-throwing shoulder on a freak play and needed season-ending surgery. The 24-year-old missed the start of the 2016 regular season on the disabled list because he strained his left intercostal muscle while taking batting practice.
Three starts after being activated, Moscot went back on the DL with inflammation in the same surgically repaired shoulder.
