ARLINGTON -- The Rangers will retire Ivan Rodriguez's No. 7 jersey before their game with the Astros on Saturday night at Globe Life Park. Rodriguez was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on July 30 in Cooperstown, N.Y.
Rodriguez is the third Ranger to have his uniform number retired by the club, joining Nolan Ryan (34) and Johnny Oates (26). Like all other teams, the Rangers have also retired No. 42 in honor of Jackie Robinson.
The weekend will begin with the Dr Pepper Hall of Fame Luncheon on Friday at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel. Rodriguez will be honored by a number of special guests, including a pair of fellow Hall of Famers -- second baseman Roberto Alomar and pitcher Ferguson Jenkins -- and National Baseball Hall of Fame president Jeff Idelson.
The Hall of Fame Luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. CT, and tickets, priced at $100 each, remain for the luncheon. The net proceeds will benefit the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. Tickets can be purchased at texasrangers.com/halloffame.
Saturday's ceremonies are expected to begin at 6:35 p.m., with the game scheduled to start at 7:35 p.m. Less than 1,000 reserved tickets remain.

Alomar and Idelson will participate in the ceremony with members of Rodriguez's family and Rangers Hall of Famers Jenkins (2004), John Wetteland ('05), Rusty Greer ('07), Toby Harrah ('09), Tom Grieve ('10), Eric Nadel ('12), Tom Schieffer ('14), Jeff Russell ('15) and Michael Young ('16) also in attendance.
The participants will include a number of former Texas players who wore the No. 7 before and after Rodriguez played with the club, including Vic Harris (1972-73), Lenny Randle ('74-76), Lew Beasley ('77), Billy Sample ('78), Leon Roberts ('81-82), Glenn Brummer ('85), Eric Young (2004), David Murphy ('08-13), J.P. Arencibia ('14) and Delino DeShields ('15).
The Rangers will wear home uniforms from the 1999 season, when Texas won its third American League West title in four seasons and Rodriguez earned the AL Most Valuable Player Award. The Astros will wear their road uniforms from 1999, when they earned their third consecutive National League Central crown.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame will have Rodriguez's Hall of Fame plaque on display on the first-base main concourse at Globe Life Park in on Friday and Saturday. Fans can view and take photos of the plaque on Friday from 5 p.m. until the end of seventh inning (game time is 7:05 p.m.) and on Saturday from 7:30 p.m. until the end of seventh inning.
