ARLINGTON -- The Rangers' first game ever at Globe Life Field will be against the Cardinals. The two teams will play an exhibition game at 7:05 p.m. CT Monday, March 23, during Spring Training next year.

Globe Life Field is currently under construction just south of the current facility. The 1.7 million square-foot ballpark sits on 13 acres, will cost $1.2 million and seat approximately 40,300 fans. It will include a retractable roof for climate-controlled cooling in the summer and will include an artificial playing surface.

The Texas Live! entertainment complex opened last August. The new Live! by Loews hotel and convention center is scheduled to open this August.

The Rangers open a three-game series with the Cardinals on Friday night at Globe Life Park, the first time the two teams have met since the 2011 World Series. Major League Baseball will announce complete '20 Spring Training and regular-season schedules at a later date.
