The Texas Rangers spread some holiday cheer on Monday to girls and boys who are patients at Medical City Children's Hospital in Dallas.

Rangers general manager Chris Young and manager Bruce Bochy, along with players, coaches and announcers, donned Santa caps while delivering presents and playing games with kids who would rather be home for the holidays.

“Really a pleasure to be here,” Bochy said. “You think of these kids at this time of year, and you know they would love to be home. If there’s any way we can lift their spirits, we’ll do all we can to do that. Your heart goes out to them.”

The visit is part of an annual tradition for the Rangers, who partner with Medical City Children’s Hospital each holiday season to bring joy to patients and their families. This year’s gift bundles included a Rangers cap, a coloring book and stickers.

“Again, it breaks your heart that they are in here, but if we can help out in any way, that’s why we’re here,” Bochy said.

Earlier this year, Rangers pitchers Cole Ragans and Taylor Hearn helped brighten the day for many kids at the same hospital by handing out signed baseballs and Nintendo Switch gaming systems.
