White Sox agree to terms on one-year contract with Mike Tauchman

DALLAS – The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms on a one-year, $1.95-million contract with veteran outfielder Mike Tauchman.

Tauchman, 34, spent the 2024 season with the Chicago Cubs, batting .248/.357/.366 (74-298) with 12 doubles, seven home runs, 29 RBI, 50 runs scored and 47 walks over a career-high 109 games. He ranked seventh in the major leagues with an average of one walk every 7.29 plate appearances (min. 300 PA) while appearing in 51 games in right field, 16 in left and 15 in center.

Tauchman, 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, is a career .241/.344/.374 (293-1,215) hitter with 60 doubles, 32 homers, 155 RBI, 207 runs scored and 183 walks over parts of seven major-league seasons with Colorado (2017-18), New York-AL (2019-21), San Francisco (2021) and the Cubs (2023-24). He ranks sixth in the major leagues since the start of the 2023 season with an average of one walk every 7.29 plate appearances (min. 750 PA).

Tauchman, a native of Palatine, Ill., originally was selected by the Rockies in the 10th round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.
