Twins Place Chris Paddack And Carlos Correa On Injured List

Austin Martin reinstated from 10-day Injured List; Edouard Julien recalled from Triple-A St. Paul

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed right-handed pitcher Chris Paddack on the 15-day Injured List with a right forearm strain (retroactive to July 17). Additionally, the Twins placed shortstop Carlos Correa on the 10-day Injured List (retroactive to July 16) last night with right plantar fasciitis.

Paddack, 28, has gone 5-3 with a 4.99 ERA (88.1 IP, 49 ER), 21 walks, 79 strikeouts and a 1.39 WHIP in 17 starts for the Twins in 2024. This is his second Injured List stint this season, after previously missing time from June 25-July 8.

Correa, 29, has hit .308 (86-for-279) with 16 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs, 47 RBI, 30 walks, 51 runs scored, a .377 on-base percentage and an .896 OPS in 75 games for the Twins this season, earning his third career All-Star selection recently.

To fill the spots on the 26-man roster, the Twins have reinstated utility player Austin Martin from the 10-day Injured List and recalled infielder Edouard Julien from Triple-A St. Paul. Martin, who has missed the Twins’ last eight games with a right oblique strain, has hit .265 (30-for-113) with nine doubles, one home run, nine RBI, 11 walks, 27 runs scored and a .702 OPS in 47 games for the Twins this season.

Julien, who was named to the Twins’ 2024 Opening Day roster and optioned on June 3, has hit .233 (30-for-129) with two doubles, one triple, five home runs, 11 RBI, 35 walks, 23 runs scored, a .400 on-base percentage and a .780 OPS in 35 games for the Saints, including slashing .276/.450/.421 (21-for-76, .871 OPS) in his last 21 games since June 20. The 25-year-old hit .207 (35-for-169) with six doubles, seven home runs, 17 RBI, 24 walks, six stolen bases, 24 runs scored and a .676 OPS in 58 games for the Twins from March 28-June 2.
