DENVER – Major League Baseball announced today the full rosters for the 2024 All-Star Game at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, including third baseman Ryan McMahon as the Rockies representative, who was voted in as a result of player balloting. The selection marks the 29-year-old’s first career All-Star selection as he becomes the fourth Rockies’ third baseman to be selected to the Mid-Summer Classic, joining Vinny Castilla (1995, 1998), Jeff Cirillo (2000) and Nolan Arenado (2015-19).

Entering today’s game, McMahon was leading all National League third basemen in on-base percentage (.349) while ranking second in batting average (.272), hits (90), runs scored (47), slugging percentage (.456), OPS (.805) and total bases (151), tied for second in home runs (14) and third in RBI (45). Defensively, McMahon leads all NL third basemen in total chances (258), assists (198) and defensive bWAR (0.8, min. 75% games at third base) and is tied for first in defensive runs saved (five, min. 500 innings).

A native of Yorba Linda, Calif., McMahon has been named a Rawlings Gold Glove finalist each of the past three seasons (2021-23). Since 2021, his 7.2 total dWAR and 48 DRS at the hot corner both rank second among all Major League third basemen (first: Ke’Bryan Hayes).

Originally drafted in the second round of the 2013 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft out of Mater Dei High School (Calif.), McMahon ranks sixth in franchise history in dWAR (8.4), 10th in games played (844) and tied for 12th with Brad Hawpe in home runs (118).
