BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today recalled right-handed pitcher Greg Weissert from Triple-A Worcester. To make room, the club optioned left-handed pitcher Bailey Horn to Worcester following yesterday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles.

Weissert, 29, has recorded a 4.24 ERA (22 ER/46.2 IP) with 47 strikeouts in 45 Major League games this season. The right-hander also owns a 1.50 ERA (1 ER/6.0 IP) with seven strikeouts in four outings with Worcester. Originally selected by the New York Yankees in the 18th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, the New York native owns a 4.38 ERA (38 ER/78.0 IP) in 74 career games with the Yankees (2022-23) and Red Sox (2024).

Horn, 26, has recorded a 6.48 ERA (12 ER/16.2 IP) in 14 games with Boston this season, his Major League debut. Acquired from the Chicago White Sox on April 30, the Texas native also owns a 1.74 ERA (4 ER/20.2 IP) with 23 strikeouts and a .169 opponent batting average (12-for-71) in 15 games (one start) with Worcester.
