Red Sox Announce Roster Moves

BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today announced the following roster moves:

  • Placed right-handed pitcher Brayan Bello on the Paternity Leave List.
  • Placed right-handed pitcher Cooper Criswell on the COVID-19 Related Injured List, retroactive to August 8.
  • Recalled left-handed pitcher Cam Booser and right-handed pitcher Brad Keller from Triple-A Worcester.

Bello, 25, is 10-5 with a 5.16 ERA (64 ER/111.2 IP) and 109 strikeouts in 21 starts this season. Originally signed by the Red Sox as an international free agent in July 2017, the Dominican Republic native is 24-24 with a 4.64 ERA (168 ER/326.0 IP) in 62 career games (60 starts), all with Boston.

Criswell, 28, is 4-4 with a 4.02 ERA (32 ER/71.2 IP) in 18 games (13 starts) for Boston this season. The right-hander also owns a 1.40 ERA (4 ER/25.2 IP) in five starts with Worcester. Originally selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 13th round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft, the Georgia native owns a 4.69 ERA (57 ER/109.1 IP) in 30 career Major League games (15 starts) with the Angels (2021), Tampa Bay Rays (2022-23), and Red Sox (2024).

Booser, 32, has posted a 2.77 ERA (12 ER/39.0 IP) with 38 strikeouts in 38 games this season, his Major League debut. The left-hander has also pitched in six games with Worcester, allowing seven runs in 9.0 innings while striking out 18 batters. The Washington native was signed by Boston as a minor league free agent on February 6, 2023.

Keller, 29, has recorded a 5.13 ERA (19 ER/33.1 IP) in 14 Major League games (two starts) this season for the Chicago White Sox (five games) and Boston (nine games). Signed by the Red Sox as a free agent on May 26, the right-hander also owns a 4.09 ERA (10 ER/22.0 IP) in seven games (five starts) with Worcester. Originally selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the eighth round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft, the Georgia native has posted a 4.31 ERA (341 ER/712.1 IP) in 164 career Major League games (116 starts) with the Kansas City Royals (2018-23), White Sox (2024), and Red Sox (2024).
