More Than 40 Dodgers to Return to Dodger Stadium for Alumni Grand Reunion, August 10

Dusty Baker, Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, Eric Gagné, Kirk Gibson, Orel Hershiser, Steve Sax and Fernando Valenzuela among those slated to attend

LOS ANGELES – The Dodgers are set to honor over 40 members of their historic franchise over their Alumni Weekend presented by Bank of America during their August 9 to 11 series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, with the Alumni Grand Reunion on August 10 headlining that day’s events.

Dodgers from the 1960s to the 2010s will reunite on Saturday ahead of the 6:10 p.m. game time. Former World Series champions, MVPs, Rookies of the Year, Cy Young Award winners, All-Stars and more will return to Dodger Stadium, including Rick Dempsey, Eric Karros, Nomar Garciaparra, Shawn Green, Tommy John, Manny Mota, Wes Parker, Reggie Smith, Steve Yeager and Dodger manager Dave Roberts. Walter F. O’Malley will also become the 15th member of the Dodgers’ Ring of Honor, represented by his son, Peter, who was the President of the Dodgers from 1970-1998.

The other events of Alumni Weekend will include the induction of Dusty Baker into the Legends of Dodger Baseball presented by Bank of America on Friday and Matt Kemp Day on August 11. Baker will be joined by other Legends at his ceremony including Hershiser, Gibson and Mota. Matt Kemp Day will round out Alumni Weekend on Sunday. Kemp will be honored in a pregame ceremony and sign a one-day contract to retire as a Dodger.

Scheduled attendees for the Grand Alumni reunion also include Kevin Gross, Jerry Hairston, Jr., Mickey Hatcher, Charlie Hough, Jim Lefebvre, James Loney, Matt Luke, Ted Sizemore and Bobby Valentine.
