Mookie Betts Visits UCLA Hospital

December 13th, 2024

LOS ANGELE**S –** Earlier today, Dodgers infielder Mookie Betts visited UCLA Medical Center and its patients to spread holiday cheer.

The two-time World Series champion met with pediatric patients and helped the group select Christmas gifts at the Center’s holiday boutique. He then visited with more patients and gifted them all with official Dodger merchandise ahead of the holiday season.

“The holidays are an exciting time of the year especially for young people and it should be no different for these kids who are celebrating this year in the hospital,” said Mookie Betts. “They deserve to smile and I’m happy we’re able to be a part of it.”

“Nothing puts a smile on a child’s face like meeting their favorite athlete or getting a surprise visit from one of Santa’s helpers. Today, we were able to do that for some of the most deserving children in Los Angeles,” said Kristin McCowan, Vice President of Community and Government Affairs with the Los Angeles Dodgers. “UCLA is a remarkable advocate for creating special experiences for their pediatric patients. Mookie left an imprint on the lives of these children and their families that will stay with them forever, just as the team did for its fanbase during the historic 2024 World Series win. That’s what the holidays are all about.”
