Twins to host Detroit and Houston over Fourth of July week

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins – who are 14-6 in their last 20 games – return to Target Field this evening to begin their seventh homestand of this season, a six-game Fourth of July week stay against the Detroit Tigers (3 games; tonight, July 2-Thursday, July 4) and Houston Astros (3 games; Friday, July 5-Sunday, July 7).

Through Labor Day, the Twins have your ’Sota Summer covered with theme nights, gate giveaways and more. This homestand features one theme day (sold-out Wine, Women & Baseball on Sunday, July 7); four gate giveaways (Topps Baseball Cards on Wednesday, July 3; Twins City Connect Beach Towel presented by Pentair on Friday, July 5; Pablo López Bobblehead presented by Delta Air Lines on Saturday, July 6; and Kids Joe Ryan Replica Jersey on Sunday, July 7); one Kids Day presented by Target and Gillette Children’s (Sunday, July 7) and one postgame fireworks show (Wednesday, July 3). Saturday’s 1:10 p.m. game against the Astros is a 612 Saturday presented by Carbliss with media partner Bally Sports North, in which fans can enjoy $6 drink specials, $1 snacks and $2 food specials from when gates open until first pitch.

PABLO DAY

Whenever right-handed pitcher Pablo López starts at Target Field, fans can celebrate “Pablo Day” with the Twins’ Pablo Day Ticket Package; Pablo is next expected to start on July 5 (subject to change). Fans who purchase this package will receive a ticket to the game and an exclusive Pablo-themed jersey, which pays tribute to his Venezuelan roots. A portion of the proceeds of each package sold benefit local nonprofits Children’s Minnesota, Project Success and Ruff Start Rescue, which were all selected by Pablo and Kaylee López. Pablo Day ticket package purchasers will also be seated together in section 101. (Please note that returning “Pablo Day” attendees have the option of purchasing a section 101 ticket without the jersey.)

Additionally, on Saturday, July 6, the Twins will recognize state champions from across the Minnesota State High School League’s 2024 spring sports and activities slate during a special pregame, on-field parade.

TWINS VS. DETROIT TIGERS: TUESDAY, JULY 2 – THURSDAY, JULY 4 (3 GAMES)

Tuesday, July 2 vs. Detroit Tigers presented by Twisters from Universal Pictures (6:40 p.m.; gates open at 5:30 p.m.)

  • Twins x Thrivent At Bat for Impact: Through the Twins x Thrivent At Bat for Impact program, fans can vote on featured nonprofits during home games at Target Field, learning about the powerful work they do while helping direct $200,000 via four voting cycles throughout the season. Cycle 2 focused on ensuring all kids have the opportunity to play the games they love, featuring nonprofits Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, Special Olympics Minnesota, Highland Friendship Club and YMCA of the North. The results of Cycle 2 will be announced, and all four featured nonprofits will be celebrated and presented with their respective donation amounts, prior to Tuesday’s game against the Tigers.
  • Timberwolves Draft Picks First Pitches: Minnesota Timberwolves 2024 first round draft picks Rob Dillingham (No. 8 overall) and Terrence Shannon Jr. (No. 27 overall) will each throw out a ceremonial first pitch on Tuesday night. Dillingham played collegiately at the University of Kentucky and earned 2023-24 SEC Sixth Man of the Year honors as a freshman, while Shannon Jr. was a third-team All-American this past season at the University of Illinois.
  • Olympic First Pitches: University of Minnesota alumna Sarah Bacon and her synchronized diving partner Kassidy Cook – who both recently qualified for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Diving team and are slated to compete in Paris this summer – will throw out ceremonial first pitches prior to the series opener against the Tigers. Bacon, who will also compete individually in the 3-meter competition, and Cook are currently training at the University of Minnesota and are due to depart for France on July 14.
  • Softball Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Cece Hanson, who was named the 2024 Ms. Softball award winner by the Minnesota Twins Community Fund and the Minnesota All Sports Alliance. An outfielder from Rosemount High School, Hanson has committed to play collegiately at South Dakota State University.
  • Hopkins Raspberry Festival Royalty First Pitches: In honor of the 90th Hopkins Raspberry Festival, set for July 17-21, three members of the raspberry royal court will throw out a ceremonial first pitch: Mara Lien (Queen), Kharisma Naidu (Princess) and Avalon Roberts (Princess).

Wednesday, July 3 vs. Detroit Tigers presented by Topps (7:10 p.m.; gates open at 6:00 p.m.)

  • Gate Giveaway – Baseball Cards: The first 20,000 fans through the gates on July 3 will receive a pack of baseball cards presented by Topps.
  • Ceremonial First Pitch – Ty McDevitt: University of Minnesota Head Baseball Coach Ty McDevitt will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. McDevitt was named head coach on May 22, 2024, following John Anderson’s retirement.
  • Fireworks!: Fans can enjoy a fireworks show following the game.

Thursday, July 4 vs. Detroit Tigers (1:10 p.m.; gates open at 11:00 a.m.)

  • Baseball Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Riley Leatherman, who was recently named the 2024 Mr. Baseball award winner by the Minnesota Twins Community Fund and the Minnesota All Sports Alliance. A right-handed pitcher and shortstop from Wayzata High School, Leatherman has committed to play collegiately at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
  • Fourth of July: Celebrate Independence Day at Target Field! Fans can take advantage of the following daily ticket deals: All You Can Eat Legends Landing, Military Discount presented by Evolv Technology and Bally Sports North, and TickPick Family Section with media partner Bally Sports North.

TWINS VS. HOUSTON ASTROS: FRIDAY, JULY 5 – SUNDAY, JULY 7 (3 GAMES)

  • Olympic Marathon First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by marathoner Dakotah Lindwurm, the first Minnesotan to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Lindwurm is from St. Francis, MN, makes her home in the Twin Cities area and will represent the U.S. in the women’s marathon in Paris.

Saturday, July 6 vs. Houston Astros presented by Delta Air Lines (1:10 p.m.; gates open at 11:00 a.m.)

  • 612 Saturday presented by Carbliss with media partner Bally Sports North: Get to Target Field when gates open for 612 Saturday presented by Carbliss with media partner Bally Sports North! From 11:00 a.m. until first pitch, fans can enjoy $6 drink specials, $1 snacks and $2 food specials, while receiving the Twins’ best gate giveaways.
  • Gate Giveaway – Pablo López Bobblehead: The first 10,000 fans through the Target Field gates on Saturday will receive a Pablo López Bobblehead presented by Delta Air Lines.
  • Minnesota State High School League Baseball and Softball Champions Recognition: The Twins will recognize the winners of the Minnesota State High School League Softball State Tournament, which took place in early June in Mankato, and the winners of the Minnesota State High School League Baseball State Tournament, which was on June 21-22 at Target Field. Softball champions are: New Ulm Cathedral (Class A), Randolph (Class 2A), Mankato East (Class 3A) and Rogers (Class 4A). Baseball champions are: Springfield (Class A), Rockford (Class 2A), Totino-Grace (Class 3A) and East Ridge (Class 4A).
  • Minnesota State High School League Spring Activity Recognition: Prior to the game, state champions from across the Minnesota State High School League’s spring sports and activities slate are invited to take the field for a parade around the warning track, in recognition of their success.

Sunday, July 7 vs. Houston Astros (1:10 p.m.; gates open at 11:00 a.m.)
