Dodgers recall Bobby Miller, activate Ryan Brasier

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller, activated right-handed Ryan Brasier and optioned pitchers Michael Grove and Justin Wrobleski.

Miller, 25, rejoins the team and will make the start for the Dodgers tonight. On the season with the big club, he is 1-2 with an 8.07 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 29.0 innings. He is in his second season with the Dodgers, and he is a combined 12-6 with a 4.58 ERA with 146 strikeouts in 153.1 innings over 29 Major League starts. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the first round (29th overall) of the 2020 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Louisville.

Brasier, 36, has been on the injured list since April 28 with a right calf strain. He appeared in 12 games for the Dodgers, striking out 12 batters in 11.2 innings. During his rehab assignment, he made eight appearances for Triple-A Oklahoma City, going 2-0 without allowing a run and 12 strikeouts. He is in his second season with the Dodgers and he is a combined 2-0 with a 1.61 ERA in 51 games. The Texas native has been in the Majors parts of eight seasons with Los Angeles-AL (2013), Boston (2018-2023) and Los Angeles-NL (2023-24) and he is a combined 9-8 with a 3.91 ERA and 10 saves.

Wrobleski, 24, made the start last night, striking out three batters and recording his first career win against the Cardinals. He has made five starts for the Dodgers this season, allowing 13 earned runs in 25.0 innings (4.68 ERA). He started the season with Double-A Tulsa, making 13 starts and going 5-2 with a 3.06 ERA. With Triple-A Oklahoma City, he is 0-2 with a 5.23 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 20.2 innings. In three minor league seasons with the Dodgers, he is 10-11 with a 3.28 ERA in 55 games (50 starts) and 224 strikeouts in 212.1 innings. He was drafted by the Dodgers in the 11th round of the 2021 First Year Player Draft out of Oklahoma State University.

Grove, 27, allowed two runs in 0.1 innings last night. He appeared in five games since returning from the injured list and allowed three runs in 4.1 innings with four strikeouts. He is 4-3 on the season with a 5.18 ERA in 33 games for the Dodgers. He has made 58 appearances (20 starts) for the Dodgers over three seasons, going 7-6 with a 5.53 ERA and 146 strikeouts in 140.0 innings. He was originally drafted in the second round of the 2018 First Year Player Draft out of West Virginia University.
