Detroit Tigers to Celebrate Opening Day, Presented by Rocket, with the Best Fans in Baseball on Friday, April 4 at Comerica Park

DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers are ready to welcome back the best fans in baseball to Comerica Park on Opening Day 2025, presented by Rocket, Friday, April 4 against the Chicago White Sox at 1:10 p.m. to kickstart the 25th anniversary season at Comerica Park.

Only standing room tickets remain for Opening Day. Great seats for the remainder of Opening Weekend, featuring games against the White Sox on Saturday, April 5 at 1:10 p.m. – with a Tigers Flannel giveaway, presented by Comerica Bank, to the first 15,000 fans – and for Chevy Sunday Kids Day on Sunday, April 6 at 1:40 p.m., are available at Tigers.com/Tickets.

OPENING WEEKEND BLOCK PARTIES, PRESENTED BY MILLER LITE

Fans can start celebrating the return of Tigers baseball before the ballpark opens with free pregame block parties throughout the weekend. Friday’s block party will open at 9 a.m., Saturday’s at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday’s at 11 a.m. Friday’s block party will stay open through the end of the game and Saturday’s and Sunday’s block parties will close each day at first pitch. Comerica Park gates will open at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday.

Block Parties Include:

  • Local food trucks including Little Caesars Pizza, Bert’s BBQ and more
  • Drinks from the Molson Coors Draft Trailer and Happy Thursday Bar (Fans ages 21+)

OPENING WEEKEND FESTIVITIES IN-BALLPARK

Once inside Comerica Park, fans will be greeted by live music, Opening Day and Built Different photo opportunities and the Detroit Tigers Foundation’s 50/50 Raffle. Fans can leave their mark by signing giant Opening Day logos at each entry gate.

All ticketed fans can take advantage of the Miller Lite Home Run Happy Hour – on the Comerica Landing – from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Select concessions items are available for just $5, including 16-ounce beers, fountain drinks, hard seltzers and snacks.

2025 DETROIT TIGERS TEAM INTRODUCTION

The Tigers will welcome fans to Comerica Park’s 25th anniversary season with individual introductions of players, manager, coaches and support staff. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 12:35 p.m. to meet the 2025 Tigers for the first time.

BRIAN D’ARCY JAMES TO PERFORM NATIONAL ANTHEM BEFORE FLYOVER

Saginaw native, Grammy award winner and five-time Tony award nominee, Brian d'Arcy James, will perform the national anthem on Opening Day, culminating an exciting pregame ceremony, including a 100-foot American Flag in the outfield and a Tigers Built Different flag on the infield. The performance will be followed by a flyover featuring an A-10 Thunderbolt II “Warthog” aircraft from the 107th Fighter Squadron and part of the 127th Wing at Selfridge Air National Guard Base.

KEEGAN-MICHAEL KEY TO THROW OUT FIRST PITCH

Fans in attendance and watching on FanDuel Sports Network Detroit won’t want to miss the ceremonial first pitch, with Southfield, Mich., native Keegan-Michael Key helping the Tigers open the home season in style. Fans will also enjoy the infamous “Play Ball!” call from a special guest.

RED WINGS GAMES FOLLOWING TIGERS GAMES ON APRIL 4 AND 6

Fans can make it a doubleheader in The District Detroit on April 4 and 6. After watching Opening Day, fans can visit Little Caesars Arena to cheer on the Detroit Red Wings against the Carolina Hurricanes. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with puck drop at 7 p.m., and the first 7,500 fans in attendance receive a Red Wings hat with the Tigers cursive jersey font on the front. Fans can purchase Red Wings tickets at DetroitRedWings.com/Tickets. On April 6, the Red Wings host the Florida Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Arena doors open at 4 p.m., and fans can purchase a special ticket package for the Tigers game to get a co-branded Tigers and Red Wings Trapper Hat.

Tigers fans are reminded all tickets at Comerica Park are digital. Fans are encouraged to download tickets from the MLB Ballpark App to their digital wallet before leaving home to ensure seamless entry into the ballpark. All bags, purses and clutches are prohibited. Only wallets sized 4” x 6” x 1.5” or smaller are permitted.
