Outfielder Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees has been unanimously voted the American League Player of the Month presented by Chevrolet for August, his third Monthly Award of 2024, and outfielder Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks has been named the National League Player of the Month presented by Chevrolet for August. The announcements were made earlier today on MLB Network.

Judge earned his ninth career Player of the Month Award, the third-most individual awards all-time, trailing only Barry Bonds (13) and Alex Rodriguez (10). Judge’s previous wins came earlier this season in May and June; May 2023; three times in 2022 (May, July, September/October); and twice in 2017 (June and September). Following his three awards in 2022, Judge remains the only player in AL history to win the award at least three times in a single season and is joined by Ronald Acuña Jr. (2023) and Mark McGwire (1999) as the only players to ever win three awards in a single season. Judge is the first player of the trio to accomplish the feat on two occasions. Carroll claimed his first career honor and is the first Diamondbacks player to win Player of the Month since Paul Goldschmidt in June 2018.

• The 32-year-old hit .389 (35-for-90) with 12 homers, 24 RBI, six doubles, 25 walks, 21 runs scored, two stolen bases, an .856 slugging percentage and a .530 on-base percentage in 26 games last month.

• The 2022 AL MVP hit his 50th and 51st home runs of the season on August 25th against Colorado, and is currently on pace for 60 home runs, nearing his AL record of 62, set during the 2022 season. Judge joined Hall of Famer Babe Ruth (four times), Mark McGwire (four times), Sammy Sosa (three times) and Alex Rodriguez (three times) as the only players in history with at least three seasons of 50 home runs.

• The 2017 AL Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year homered in four straight games from August 20th-23rd, hitting two home runs on August 21st against Cleveland, marking the fourth time in his career that he homered in four straight games and second time this season (also: 5/22-5/25). Along with his two-homer game on August 25th, he became the first player since Joey Votto in 2021 to hit seven home runs over a six-game span, after Votto homered in seven straight games (9 HR) for the Reds. He became the first Yankees player with seven homers across a six-game stretch since Rodriguez in 2007.

• The six-time All-Star recorded at least one hit in 22 of his 26 games last month, including an 11-game hitting streak from August 11th-23rd. During the stretch, he batted .439 (18-for-41) with eight homers, 14 RBI, a .531 on-base percentage and a 1.653 OPS. Overall, he reached base safely in 24 of his 26 games in August, reaching at least twice in 19 of the games. The Yankees are 62-25 this season in the Major League-best 87 games that Judge has reached base safely at least twice.

• The 24-year-old hit .280 (28-for-100) with 11 homers, 24 RBI, a double, four triples, 10 walks, 30 runs scored, two stolen bases, a .700 slugging percentage and a .342 on-base percentage in 27 games last month.

• The Seattle native led the Majors in runs scored; tied for the Major League lead in triples; ranked second in slugging; tied for third in homers and total bases (70); tied for fifth in RBI; and ranked seventh in OPS (1.042).

• The reigning NL Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year closed out the month on a 10-game hitting streak, batting .333 (13-for-39) with six homers, 13 RBI, a double, a triple, three walks, 10 runs, a stolen base, an .872 slugging percentage and a 1.241 OPS. He extended the streak to 12 games with two hits on Monday against the Dodgers, tying the longest streak of his career after he also
hit in 12 consecutive games from April 21-May 7, 2023.

• The 2023 All-Star in his hometown of Seattle crushed five home runs across the final five games of the month, including a two-homer, five-RBI game on August 28th against the Mets. Trailing 5-3 in the eighth inning, Carroll hit a go-ahead, two-out, grand slam to put Arizona up 7-5, marking his second career grand slam (also: 6/9/2023 at DET). On August 31st against the Dodgers, he hit an inside-the-park home run to lead off the game. The homer was the 22nd inside-the-park homer in Diamondbacks’ history and the first in leadoff fashion. It was the first leadoff inside-the-park home run in the Majors since Kevin Kiermaier of the Rays on May 24, 2022.

• The 16th overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft has reached base in each of his last 41 starts dating back to July 7th, marking the longest such streak of his career. He is the first Diamondbacks player to reach base safely in 41 consecutive starts, surpassing the previous franchise record of 39 straight starts by Jay Bell from June 27-August 17, 1998. It is the longest in the Majors since Goldschmidt reached base safely in 46 consecutive starts for the Cardinals in 2022.
