Pirates select Ke'Bryan Hayes 32nd overall in 2015 Draft
The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced they have selected third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes with the 32ND overall selection (compensation for Russell Martin signing with Toronto) in the 2015 First-Year Player Draft. The announcement was made by Pirates Director of Scouting Joe DelliCarri.
Hayes hit .436 (41-for-94) with 16 doubles, one triple, three home runs, 27 RBI and 12 stolen bases as a senior this year at Concordia Lutheran (TX) High School.
He was also a 2015 pre-season Perfect Game All American and Texas All-Region first-team selection. In addition, Hayes was a Perfect Game USA 2014 underclass first-team selection and 2013 underclass first-team selection. The right-handed hitting Hayes is also the son of former Major Leaguer Charlie Hayes, who played for the Pirates in 1996.
