Bucs-Nats opener rained out; split DH today
WASHINGTON -- The Nationals' series opener against the Pirates on Friday has been postponed because of inclement weather. The teams will play a split-admission doubleheader on Saturday, with a separate ticket required for each game.
Game 1 will begin at 1:05 p.m. ET, with left-hander Patrick Corbin on the mound for Washington, as scheduled, vs. Pirates southpaw Rich Hill. Gates will open at 11:30 a.m. ET.
Game 2, the postponed game, will begin at 6:05 p.m ET. Right-hander Chad Kuhl will get the start against his former team, while Vince Velasquez will take the hill for the Bucs. Tickets and parking passes from Friday will be honored for Game 2 on Saturday. Gates will open either 75 minutes after the last out of Game 1 or at 4:30 p.m. ET -- whichever happens later.
