Podcast hits the books, previews 2024 college baseball season
In this week's edition of the Pipeline Podcast, the guys head back to the classroom and cover the 2024 college baseball curriculum.
Jim Callis, Jonathan Mayo and Jason Ratliff dive into a collegiate year sure to be filled with standout performances from 2024 Draft prospects, as the group projects to be predominantly college players. They then dig deeper into the roster of No. 1-ranked Wake Forest that features No. 2 Draft prospect Nick Kurtz along with four other prospects ranked in the Top 100.
The crew touches on the MLB Desert Invitational, taking place Feb. 16-19, before welcoming one of those four Wake Draft prospects, No. 9 Seaver King, to the show. The Athens, Georgia, native joins Jim as they chop it up about the start of King's Draft year and the loaded Wake roster.
Following the interview with King, the trio talks about Pipeline's recent article predicting each club's top prospect in 2026. They break down the process behind choosing a future top prospect and explore some names in the story such as the No. 10 prospect in baseball, Twins outfielder Walker Jenkins.
The group wraps up with a mailbag question about one of the prospects highlighted in the piece, Marlins right-hander Noble Meyer.
