Phillies massive videoboard to debut on Thursday
With the Phillies home opener just three days away on April 6, officials from the team and Aramark Sports + Entertainment announced all the exciting new foods, gear, special events, giveaways and more that will be part of this season’s fan experience at Citizens Bank Park.
Highlights also included the big reveal of the team’s giant new videoboard, which was installed this past offseason.
“After a magical postseason run and tremendous offseason acquisitions, we are excited to welcome fans back to Citizens Bank Park,” said Phillies Executive Vice President Dave Buck. “As we celebrate the return of the reigning National League champions during Opening Weekend festivities, we look forward to our fans experiencing all the terrific new additions that have been made to our off-the-field lineup.”
WHAT’S NEW THIS SEASON AT CITIZENS BANK PARK
4K-CAPABLE AND HDR PHANAVISION MAKES ITS DEBUT
From its sheer magnitude and extraordinary technology to improved viewing angles and exceptional clarity, the new and enhanced PhanaVision videoboard will make every Phillies big moment even more electrifying for fans.
- The massive new display – the third largest in the major leagues – is 77% larger in size than the previous scoreboard and features the latest and greatest in high dynamic range (HDR) video technology.
- Measuring at approximately 152 feet wide by 86 feet tall, the new display will deliver nearly 13,000 square feet of digital space to entertain and engage fans at every game. With a 16:9 aspect ratio, the new scoreboard can display 516 life-size Phillie Phanatics simultaneously.
- The new videoboard features 11.6 million pixels at 10-millimeter spacing, bringing excellent image clarity and contrast to fans. It weighs 116,298 pounds and is supported by 190 tons of structural steel. Plus, a modernized production control room has been built to support the enhanced system.
OPENING GAMES TO CELEBRATE NL CHAMPIONS! PLUS, PHOTOS WITH NL CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY
- On Thurs., April 6, the Phillies are beginning the season with the sold-out Opening Day presented by Nemours Children's Health with a 2022 NL championship pennant giveaway for all fans. Highlights include a leadoff walk of players, who will make their way from Ashburn Alley onto the field, followed by the raising of the NL pennant. More fun includes the Budweiser Block Party inside the Third Base Gate. Outside the gate there will be photo opportunities with Budweiser Clydesdales, 3D chalk art and more.
- On Sat., April 8, festivities continue at the sold-out McDonald’s Opening Night, with a 2022 NL champions T-shirt for fans 15 and over, a block party at the Budweiser Batters Eye Bar and more. Plus, J.T. Realmuto, Aaron Nola, Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner and more will be recognized on-field for their offseason awards.
- On Sun., April 9, arrive early for the 2022 National League Champions Ring Ceremony, as the Phillies are presented with their NL championship rings by Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer John Middleton and President of Baseball Operations David Dombrowski on-field before the game.
- Opening Weekend will also be the first time to take photos with the NL championship trophy at the ballpark. The trophy will be on display in the First Base Plaza for April home games.

- The Phillies also provided the first look at the 2023 promotions and Theme Nights, as well as a preview of NL champion, player, Phanatic, and Phillies-themed giveaways.

Easier Arrival and Entrance into the Ballpark!
- New fan screening process: quicker entry into the ballpark! Fans will now be able to walk right through the entrance gates without having to stop to open bags or be checked individually as they enter the ballpark. This new feature is thanks to Evolv Technology, which will be partnering with the Phillies to use a powerful technology with artificial intelligence to provide safer, more accurate threat detection at unprecedented volume and speed.
- New Uber RideShare Lot for fans! Starting on April 20, Uber will be providing a RideShare in Lot T for all Citizens Bank Park and Wells Fargo Center events. Fans should exit the Third Base Gate and walk along Pattison Avenue toward Broad Street to enter the lot and request a vehicle, which will meet each rider in the designated area. The lot will also include an Uber-branded lounge with seating and a charging station.
NEW FOOD OFFERINGS! The Phillies and Aramark Sports + Entertainment have added new menu items to the ballpark’s award-winning food lineup:
- Seasons Inning Stretch: For the 2023 season, Aramark Sports + Entertainment will debut Seasons Inning Stretch (#SeasonsInningStretch), a limited-time, seasonally inspired food and beverage program that will bring new, elevated tastes to the ballpark menu in the spring, summer and fall. To start the season, Citizens Bank Park will offer a Jerk Chicken Sandwich featuring pulled jerk chicken served on a brioche roll with pickle slaw and fried plantains. (Section 143)
- Coca-Cola Corner: The Phillies, Aramark Sports + Entertainment, Coca-Cola, and Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages are partnering this season to launch Coca-Cola Corner. As part of the initiative, Coca-Cola Corner will showcase seven Philadelphia-area restaurants during each Phillies series. The restaurants will feature one of their well-known menu items paired with the perfect Coca-Cola beverage. Plus, 5% of all purchases of these items will benefit Philabundance to help fight food insecurity.
NEW CONCESSIONS OFFERINGS AND LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS
- 1883 Burger Co: A nod to the year the Phillies were founded, this stand will serve up fresh, never-frozen burgers, chicken tenders, jumbo Phillies Franks and Boardwalk Fries. (Sections 109 & 207)
- Federal Donuts Chicken Tenders: Crispy, hand-battered chicken tenders served with an Everything Rooster dipping sauce. (Federal Donuts)
- Greens & Grains: The local restaurant chain will serve plant-based, fast, and fresh food options. (Section 125)
- Manco and Manco: This Ocean City boardwalk fan favorite will be expanding to additional locations and offered at Pass and Stow, Miller Lite Liberty Landing and Section 137.
- Mexican Street Popcorn: Tossed in-house with tajin spice, lime and cotija cheese. (Pass and Stow)
- Miso Couscous: Available in premium suites, this vegetarian dish is accompanied by roasted baby eggplant, broccolini and romesco.
- P.J. Whelihan’s Cheesesteak Egg Rolls: A duo of golden fried egg rolls stuffed with Philly’s finest shaved steak & melted American cheese. Served with sriracha ketchup. (Ashburn Alley)
- South Philly Disco Fries: Roast pork, melted sharp provolone cheese, broccoli rabe, and roasted red peppers. (Pass and Stow)
- Uncle Charlie’s Steaks: Named after 2008 World Series champion Charlie Manuel, this new area will feature classic, Philly-style cheesesteaks on freshly baked Liscio’s Bakery seeded rolls served with Herr’s kettle chips.
