Phillies and SEI volunteers assemble and deliver Thanksgiving dinners for families in need
Over 40 volunteers from the Phillies and SEI gathered before the holiday to team up with Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia and make sure that 50 local families in need will have a delicious dinner on Thanksgiving Day.
The volunteers, with help from the Phanatic, assembled holiday bags filled with turkeys, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and rolls – everything each family needs to cook a homemade holiday meal.
Special guests, including 1993 National League Champions Mickey Morandini and Milt Thompson (also 2008 World Champion hitting coach) and 1980 World Series champion Dickie Noles, joined the volunteers in packing and delivering the meals across the Philadelphia area.
The event kicked off the Phillies Season of Giving presented by SEI, a month-long initiative to affect positive change in the community and celebrate the holiday season with various charitable events.
