The Phillie Phanatic doesn't like to share the spotlight.
Case-in-point: Prior to Friday night's game between the Phillies and Padres at Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies' mascot tried to do something that's virtually impossible -- convince baseball fans not to try and get Fernando Tatis Jr.'s autograph in a futile attempt to avoid losing the limelight for a few seconds.
As you might imagine, it didn't go so well. It appears the Phanatic even resorted to shaming the hometown fans for seeking an autograph from a visiting player, tugging at the front of his Phillies jersey in a last-ditch effort that, predictably, failed.
This is Tatis, Phanatic, one of the most electric young players in the game. Don't fight the inevitable.
