O's-Tigers postponed, to play split twin bill Saturday
DETROIT -- Friday’s scheduled game between the Tigers and Orioles at Comerica Park has been postponed due to rain. It will be made up on Saturday as part of a split doubleheader.
Saturday’s first game will start at 12:10 p.m. ET, with the second game scheduled for 5:10. All tickets for Friday’s rainout are good for the second game. Tickets for Saturday’s originally scheduled 1:10 game will be good for the first game.
Friday’s postponement was an early and easy call. A weather system passing across Michigan brought rains from Friday morning throughout the day. With no end in sight until late Friday evening, and two more days to go in the Orioles’ only scheduled visit to Detroit this season, the decision was made to wait for better weather this weekend.
This is the third postponement the Tigers have had at home already this season. They swept a doubleheader against the Guardians last homestand after the series opener was postponed due to cold and windy conditions. They’ll make up a rainout against the Giants in late July. The Tigers have actually played half their games indoors so far this season thanks to April road series at Tampa Bay, Houston, Toronto and Milwaukee.
