BALTIMORE -- The Orioles have been celebrating the 30th anniversary season of Oriole Park at Camden Yards’ history throughout this 2022 season, but one weekend in August will stand out from it all.

The O’s announced prior to Tuesday’s tilt against the Rangers that the club will celebrate “The Ballpark That Forever Changed Baseball” with a weekend of festivities during the Aug. 5-6 series against the Pirates in Baltimore, holding a luncheon with former players on Friday before a pregame ceremony on the field on Saturday. Former players expected to be in attendance include Hall of Famer Eddie Murray, Chris Davis, Rick Sutcliffe, Robert Andino, Jay Gibbons, Chris Hoiles, Rodrigo Lopez and Jeff Reboulet, among possibly others.

All players had a part in the history of the Orioles’ famed ballpark, most notable Sutcliffe pitching the inaugural game at Camden Yards in 1992 and Davis the owner of the second-most home runs in the stadium at 142, behind Adam Jones’ mark of 146. Davis will be making his first public appearance since retiring in August 2021.

And as the Orioles did at the start of the season, they are offering throwback 1992 pricing on tickets for the Aug. 6 contest. Tickets are available at $4 for bleachers, $8 for reserve seats, and $12, $13 and $18 for box seats. Purchases can be made at Orioles.com/Tickets.

What’s more, the first 20,000 fans ages 15 and older in attendance for Friday’s tilt against Pirates will receive a Cedric Mullins 30/30 bobblehead, and the first 15,000 ages 15 and older on Saturday will receive a commemorative T-shirt in honor of the ballpark.
