DENVER -- has spent most of his first Major League season finding his way. , the Rockies’ star rookie last year, has spent most of 2024 finding his way back.

The pair found their way in the eighth inning Saturday night, teaming for the go-ahead run in the Rockies’ 7-5 victory over the Orioles at Coors Field.

Jones hustled a one-out double off reliever Craig Kimbrel. Beck knocked Jones in with a single and scored on fellow rookie Drew Romo’s fielder’s choice.

Beck entered the game batting .217, granted with a small sample size of 37 games -- interrupted by a 60-game absence with a left wrist injury.

Jones’ season, after he finished fourth in National League Rookie of the Year voting last year, also has been addled by injuries -- two trips to the injured list with back issues, and a knee injury that occurred during his first rehab assignment. Jones entered hitting .208.

It was a victory for Rockies youth. Before veteran reliever Tyler Kinley earned his eighth save, rookies Luis Peralta, Seth Halvorsen and Jeff Criswell combined to limit the Orioles to one hit across 3 1/3 innings.
