National Champion Vols finish season No. 1 in CBF Power Poll
LUBBOCK, Texas – Fresh off their first college baseball national championship in school history, the Tennessee Volunteers finish the 2024 season as the unanimous No. 1 in the College Baseball Foundation Power Poll.
The first team since Miami in 1999 to win the NCAA Tournament as the No. 1 seed, the Vols (60-13) finished off a historic season Monday night with a thrilling 6-5 victory over No. 2 Texas A&M (53-15) in Game 3 of the Men’s College World Series final. Tennessee ends up in the top spot after finishing the final four weeks of the regular season atop the poll.
After the Aggies, an impressive run in the CWS by Florida State (49-17) lands the Seminoles at No. 3 followed by Kentucky (46-16) at No. 4 and North Carolina (48-16) at No. 5.
Seven teams finished the season in the final poll that were not in the final regular-season poll – No. 6 Florida (36-30), No. 13 West Virginia (36-24), No. 15 Connecticut (35-26), No. 16 Kansas State (35-26), No. 17 Evansville (39-26), No. 22 UC Santa Barbara (44-14) and No. 23 Arizona (36-23).
Also receiving votes: Duke 8, Indiana State 8, LSU 8, Louisiana 6, Dallas Baptist 4, Grand Canyon 3.
