Harlem Globetrotters draft Mookie Betts?
Congrats to Mookie on being good at yet another sport
It's hard to remember all of the sports Mookie Betts is really good at.
He's, of course, one of the best baseball players on the planet. He has two World Series wins, an MVP and four All-Star Game appearances before the age of 29.
He's played in the PBA's World Series of Bowling and rolled a perfect game. He could probably go pro if he really wanted to.
He's shown off exceptional speed as a playground wide receiver. His trainer has said he might be better at it than at any other position in any other sport.
And now, on Monday, one of the world's most famous basketball teams has selected Mookie in its annual draft.
Betts was an all-city guard at Overton High in Nashville. He could steal and pass with some of the best in the league, while averaging 14.1 ppg. Oh, and also, at just 5-foo-9, he could dunk.
Unfortunately, the Globetrotters draft isn't a real draft and the players selected probably won't be playing (unless No. 1 pick Russell Wilson wants to give up football and No. 4 pick Sister Margaret Ann decides to leave her convent for good). But if his baseball career somehow stalls and the Globetrotters do run short of players, know that Mookie is good enough, and ready, to play.
