MLB.TV now free for college students

August 24th, 2021

How’s this for a back to school special? If you’re a college student, MLB.TV is now free for the rest of the regular season as part of MLB’s Back to School promo presented by Topps.

All you have to do is authenticate with ID.me, and you get free access to MLB.TV at a time when playoff races are heating up around the Majors.

In the American League, the surging Yankees have taken control of the first Wild Card spot, leaving the Red Sox, A’s, Mariners and Blue Jays scrambling for the final berth. New York has also closed the gap between itself and the Rays for first place in the AL East.

The Giants were the first team in either league to 80 wins, but the Dodgers are hot on their heels in the National League West. Both teams are likely getting into the postseason, but one is going to be stuck in a win-or-go-home NL Wild Card Game. Meanwhile, the struggling Padres have fallen behind the Reds in the race for the second Wild Card spot in the NL.

A lot can change with a little over a month to go in the regular season, of course, and you don’t have to miss a single moment.

MLB.TV’s yearly subscription not only allows you to stream every team’s games live (blackout and other restrictions apply) or on demand on supported devices but also includes MLB Big Inning, which brings fans all the best action via live look-ins and breaking highlights. MLB Big Inning airs weeknights and is available exclusively to MLB.TV subscribers.

Additionally, MLB.TV has an expanded library of on-demand content, including a wide range of features, documentaries and classic games.

So if you really want to fill all of your time between study sessions with baseball, you can do that, and you can do it free, which is even better.
