Baseball fans packed stadiums around the Majors on Saturday at levels not seen in nearly a decade.

With overall attendance on the rise this season, an average of 38,858 fans took in Saturday’s 15 games across the league. That’s the largest average Saturday attendance in MLB since Aug. 10, 2013.

That includes the 42,829 fans who watched the Orioles take on the Yankees at Camden Yards, marking Baltimore’s second sellout this season. The D-backs had 44,472 fans on hand for their victory over the Mariners -- Arizona’s largest crowd at Chase Field since Opening Day.

A crowd of 45,085 took in the matchup between the A’s and Rockies at Coors Field, while the Marlins (32,936) drew their largest crowd at loanDepot Park since April 29, 2017.

In total, 11 of Saturday’s games brought at least 35,000 fans out to the ballgame. Nine games had 40,000 or more in attendance.

It follows what was a banner June, as fans flocked to ballparks in historic ways multiple times last month.
