Angel in the ... end zone? Trout gets souvenir from Eagles

December 29th, 2024

has given fans plenty of souvenirs over the years, but he received one of his own from his beloved Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon.

While watching the game from his usual front-row seats beyond the end zone at Lincoln Financial Field, Trout was hand-delivered a game ball by Eagles defensive back Darius Slay during the team's 41-7 rout of the rival Dallas Cowboys. With Philadelphia leading 34-7 early in the fourth quarter, the Eagles put an end to a long Cowboys drive by forcing a fumble that fellow defensive back Cooper DeJean recovered at their own 10-yard line.

As the dust settled after the play, Slay made the long trek down the field to give the ball to Trout as he celebrated alongside the Philadelphia faithful.

The exchange came one week after a scuffle broke out between the Eagles and Steelers directly in front of Trout. Slay later joked that Trout texted him after the game to let him know he had his back during the fracas.

Trout figures to be back at the Linc at least one more time this year, as the Eagles clinched a division title -- and at least one home playoff game -- with the victory. They also wrap up the regular season with a home game against the Giants next weekend.
