Yankees outfielder Mike Tauchman's outstanding home run robbery against the Orioles last Tuesday has been recognized as the MLB Play of the Week presented by W.B. Mason.

With the Yankees leading, 5-2, in the bottom of the fourth inning, O's catcher Pedro Severino hit a fly ball to left field that seemed destined to find the seats. But Tauchman soared above the wall to pull back the would-be homer.

The catch was part of a big week for Tauchman, who hit .417/.517/1.125 with five homers and 10 RBIs in seven games.

With a strong showing on both sides of the ball, Tauchman is part of the group of unheralded players that has helped the Yankees overcome a myriad of injuries this season. The 28-year-old, who was acquired from the Rockies for pitcher Phillip Diehl on March 23, has produced a .960 OPS in 215 plate appearances and is tied for 11th in the Majors with +6 Outs Above Average.
