TAMPA, Fla. -- The Yankees’ Miguel Andújar was recently robbed at gunpoint in the Dominican Republic, according to multiple reports, but the infielder/outfielder is still expected to arrive on time for the beginning of Spring Training.
The 27-year-old Andújar was assaulted during the incident at his San Cristóbal farm, according to ESPN Deportes.

According to reports, three gunshots were fired and another individual on the property was hit in a finger. The assailants took a watch valued at $7,000 and a sport utility vehicle belonging to the ballplayer’s father, according to Listin Diario. The vehicle was later found abandoned.
Yankees players are scheduled to report to George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa by Sunday.

He batted .253/.284/.383 with six home runs and 12 RBIs in 45 games for New York last year, a season truncated by a left wrist injury.
