May 4th, 2019
CHICAGO -- Red Sox second baseman Michael Chavis added yet another memorable blast to his rookie resume during the sixth inning of Friday night’s 6-1 victory over the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Chavis demolished a hanging first-pitch slider for a two-run home run off White Sox starter Reynaldo Lopez, nearly hitting the concourse in left, to give Boston a 5-0 lead at the time.
The homer was projected to travel 459 feet, according to Statcast, which is the longest by a Red Sox hitter this season.
Chavis’ homer is the fourth-longest for the Red Sox since Statcast began tracking in 2015. He is now responsible for each of Boston's three longest home runs in 2019.
