Merchandise Sales Up 14 Pecent At Chase Field Team Shop

PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today that Team Shop sales at Chase Field are up 14 percent this season, including a 297 percent growth in jersey sales.  As a gesture of appreciation, the team is offering a 20 percent discount on all player jersey T-shirts from May 21-23 at Team Shop locations at Chase Field.

“Five years ago, we would see an entire family dressed in an opposing team’s jersey walking along the concourse at Chase Field,” said D-backs President & CEO Derrick Hall. “Now when we look out along the concourse, we see parents sporting the opposing team’s jerseys and they are holding hands with kids wearing D-backs gear. We are proud to see our fans continuing to support our D-backs.”

This season the D-backs expanded their selection of player jersey T-shirts to 15 players represented in the Team Shop and the results have been a 40 percent sales increase in those items. Top-selling Team Shop items, with more than 40 percent growth, include men’s and women’s T-shirts, adjustable caps and men’s polos. Recently, the D-backs expanded their men’s selection to include Arizona Diamondbacks-themed shirts by Tommy Bahama.

Last season, the D-backs ranked 2^nd amongst MLB clubs in overall women’s merchandise sales which led to an expanded presence of Victoria’s Secret PINK line of products this season. The D-backs lead MLB in overall PINK sales among the 17 MLB teams that currently carry the PINK line. The PINK line includes a variety of tank tops, yoga pants, T-shirts and hoodies that features sequins and fun sayings such as “I’m a Great Catch” and “Play Ball.” Items range in price from $42-$84 and are available at the D-backs’ Team Shop.  In addition to the PINK line, the D-backs offer many women’s items including hats, jewelry, jerseys, flip flops and totes.

The Arizona Diamondbacks were once again named the best bargain in baseball, according to Team Marketing Report’s annual study released on April 6, which includes affordable merchandise items.  The D-backs offer seven “Value Items” priced below $10 at Team Shop locations and include hats, baseballs, mini bats and adult and kids T-shirts. In addition, fans can get a D-backs logo polo shirt for only $25.
