Red Sox outfielder/designated hitter underwent labral repair surgery on his right shoulder earlier this offseason, the club announced on Wednesday.

Yoshida, who revealed on the final day of the regular season that he had been playing through discomfort in his right shoulder, underwent the procedure on Oct. 3.

The Red Sox did not offer a rehab timetable for Yoshida, who signed a five-year, $90 million contract before the 2023 season.

The 31-year-old Yoshida spent nearly six weeks on the injured list this season with a left thumb strain and hit .280/.349/.415 with 10 homers and 56 RBIs in 108 games.
