MIAMI -- A couple of players with big league experience have reached agreements with the Marlins on Minor League contracts with invitations to Spring Training.
Infielder Yadiel Rivera and outfielder J.B. Shuck will be non-roster invitees to Spring Training, and if they don't make the Opening Day roster out of camp, they are candidates to provide organizational depth at Triple-A New Orleans.
Rivera, 25, was in the Brewers' system last year, and he appeared in one game for Milwaukee. He split time in 2017 between the Rookie league Brewers and Triple-A Colorado Springs, combining for a slash line of .227/.287/.325 with six home runs and 48 RBIs.

Mainly a defensive specialist, Rivera has played shortstop, third base and second base.
Rivera spent parts of three seasons with the Brewers, from 2015-17, with his most big league action coming in 2016, when he played in 35 games and hit .212. In the Majors, he has appeared in 17 games each at third base and at second base, along with seven games at shortstop.
Shuck, who throws and bats left-handed, is a 30-year-old who didn't play in the big leagues in 2017. He made his MLB debut in 2011 with the Astros, and he has also been with the Angels, Indians and White Sox.
In 363 MLB games, Shuck has a slash line of .251/.299/.328 with eight home runs and 80 RBIs.
