Marlins host Pillar Partner ADT to celebrate 150 years
On August 9, the Marlins hosted ADT, one of the organization’s Pillar Partners, to celebrate an incredible milestone – the company’s 150th anniversary! This celebration included a pre-game gathering for ADT employees in the Biscayne Bay Brew Hall at loanDepot park, featuring an appearance from Marlins legend and two-time World Series champion Jeff Conine.
“It’s really special because so few companies make it to 150 years,” said DeLu Jackson, ADT Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing and Communications Offer. “We’re excited to be celebrating with our employees, communities, and partners in this really great location.”
As part of the evening’s festivities, a lucky ADT employee threw out the game’s ceremonial first pitch, while joined by four of their colleagues. Another employee delivered the game’s lineup card with Marlins manager Skip Schumaker, while three others assisted with the changing of the bases during the third inning.
These once-in-a-lifetime experiences were part of the Marlins not only celebrating ADT’s impressive accomplishment as a company, but also their role in what has been an extremely meaningful partnership between the two parties.
“ADT has been an incredible supporter and proud partner of the Marlins, and it was our honor to open our doors to celebrate the company reaching such a historic milestone,” said Robert Gelman, Marlins Vice President and Head of Partnership Development and Strategy. “As two South Florida companies with shared values of innovation, safety, and first-class service, we are thrilled with what this partnership has accomplished and look forward to seeing it continue to grow.”
On March 29, 2023, ADT officially joined the Marlins family by becoming the club’s first-ever jersey patch sponsor, as well as a Piller Partner of the organization.
“ADT at its roots is a community organization, and we see the Marlins as a big part of the community that we live and work in,” said David Scott, ADT Executive Vice President, Chief People and Administration Officer. “This partnership just makes sense. It’s two great organizations coming together with a focus in providing meaningful interactions with consumers and achieving success together.”
Following the jersey patch introduction, the partnership has evolved to serve Marlins fans at the ballpark and in the community. At every Tuesday home Marlins game this season, a local military member, police officer, firefighter, or first responder receives an in-game on-field recognition as the ADT Hero of the Game. ADT also installs a home security system and provides the honorees with free service for a year.
As the organization’s Official Smart Security Partner, there is an activation on loanDepot park’s Promenade Level that allows fans to imagine themselves as Major League Baseball stars through the creation of their own player card, while learning more about the company’s various services.
“We have a great fan experience right when you enter the stadium, where you can get pictures with the 150th logo and get your own baseball cards,” said Jackson. “My favorite is the stencil on the field. When you round third base and see ‘when every second counts’ and ADT, it really just brings home how special this brand is and how special this partnership is.”
On what excites him the most about the partnership moving forward, Jackson added, “The way we get to interact with fans and the number of fans that we get to touch over a 162-game season. We get to do that all over the country. We do it here at home, which is really important, but we also touch communities all across the country through the presence the team has on the road.”
While both the Marlins and ADT can't wait to see what the future holds, Scott shared the secret to success and how the company has no plans of going anywhere anytime soon.
“It’s about getting the right people in the right position and working together as a team,” said Scott. “I think for 150 years we’ve done that really well, and we’re excited to do it for another 150 years.”
