SEATTLE -- The Mariners' coaching staff is expected to be finalized at some point this week, with third-base coach Scott Brosius departing and veteran Marlins infield coach Perry Hill being hired.
The club also will be announcing a new hitting coach to replace Edgar Martinez, who asked to take on a new position next year as an organizational hitting adviser last month.
Hill's addition hasn't been officially announced, but the highly regarded 66-year-old has already changed his Twitter profile to say "Seattle Mariners infield coach."
Brosius was asked to remain on manager Scott Servais' staff, but a source confirmed Tuesday he has opted to pursue other opportunities. The 52-year-old spent the past two years with the Mariners, as an assistant coach in 2017 and third-base coach in '18.
The Mariners already hired former Cardinals Minor League pitching coordinator Paul Davis as their new pitching coach, after Mel Stottlemyre Jr. was let go at the end of the season.
Bench coach Manny Acta, first-base coach Chris Prieto, assistant coach Jim Brower and bullpen coach Brian DeLunas are expected to return, though it's unknown if they'll remain in their same positions.

Hill will bring a wealth of experience to Servais' staff, having spent the past 12 seasons in the Majors with Miami. He was the Marlins' first-base coach while overseeing the infielders the past six years and coached Mariners infielder Dee Gordon when he was Miami's second baseman from 2015-17.
Gordon posted an Instagram photo of himself standing aside Hill in Marlins uniforms with the words "Back Together." During his time in Miami, Gordon credited Hill with helping mold him into a Gold Glove second baseman.
Hill has been a Major League coach for 23 years, having also worked with the Rangers, Tigers, Expos and Pirates.
