Ozuna now a master of making plays near wall
Earlier this season, Cardinals outfielder Marcell Ozuna made plenty of headlines when he scaled the Busch Stadium wall preparing to make a catch on a ball that fell short of wherever Ozuna thought it was heading (he also face-planted on the warning track).
On Wednesday night, Michael A. Taylor launched a deep fly ball with two outs in the sixth inning at Nationals Park. Ozuna tracked it, all the way to the deepest part of left field, and secured the out with a leaping catch. His Cardinals teammates in the bullpen behind the wall cheered him for his effort, and Ozuna gave them a look that seemed to say, "Was there ever any doubt?"
Besides the nice showing on defense Wednesday night, Ozuna continued his run of strong offensive production with a three-hit night, and his team-leading 29th RBI, in the Cardinals' 5-1 win.
