Ozuna day to day with toe discomfort
ST. LOUIS -- Marcell Ozuna is considered day to day after being removed in the fifth inning of Thursday afternoon's 3-2 walk-off win over the Rockies with discomfort in one of his left toes, according to the club.
"We don't expect it to be anything that's lingering," interim manager Mike Shildt said. "Just kind of aggravating him a little bit. We'll see what it looks like tomorrow."
Shildt suggested that the toe had been bothering Ozuna prior to the game.
"I think it got to a point today where he was obviously in discomfort, and we made the decision to give him a [rest]," Shildt said.
Ozuna made an impressive throw to nab Carlos Gonzalez running to third in the fourth inning. Ozuna was 0-for-2 at the plate, and Yairo Munoz replaced him in left, moving from shortstop.
