Luis Urías wins 2nd Play of the Week honor
Brewers infielder Luis Urías had an adventure in the field on Saturday, but it all culminated in his second Play of the Week Award of the season on Monday.
After closer Josh Hader allowed a leadoff walk in the ninth inning against the Reds, Urías snared Kyle Farmer’s grounder down the third-base line. Had the ball got by Urías, it could have been a walk-off extra-base hit. Instead, Urías initiated a double play that helped push the game to extra innings to earn him Play of the Week honors.
In the same contest that the Crew won, 7-4, Urías also committed a tough error in the 10th inning that helped the Reds tie the game, but he made up for it in the 11th, when he lunged into foul territory to catch an Aristides Aquino line drive for the second out of the inning.
Urías won his first Play of the Week Award on June 7 for his diving catch up the middle on June 4 that helped preserve Freddy Peralta's no-hit bid.
