Marte aggravates left hamstring in return
SAN DIEGO -- D-backs outfielder Ketel Marte left Saturday night's 10-1 win over the Padres at Petco Park in the first inning after aggravating a left hamstring issue.
Marte, who exited Tuesday's game against the Brewers with left hamstring tightness, hit a Dinelson Lamet pitch into right field for a one-out single. As he got to first base, Marte began to pull up and immediately signaled to the dugout that he needed to come out.
D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said Marte was again experiencing tightness in the hamstring. He will now undergo imaging, which the team didn't feel was necessary the first time the issue arose.
Marte has dealt with hamstring issues all season. He was on the injured list from April 8-May 18 with a strained right hamstring, before experiencing tightness in his left hamstring this past week. Marte missed Wednesday's finale against Milwaukee, then was available off the bench for Friday's opener in San Diego, although he didn't get into the contest.
Josh Reddick pinch-ran for Marte and remained in the game in right field, with Pavin Smith shifting from right to center.
