Tomlinson among players removed from 40-man
Infielder to be Minor League free agent, along with Gomez, d'Arnaud, Kelly

SAN FRANCISCO -- Infielder Kelby Tomlinson, who has spent parts of the last four seasons with the Giants, was among five players moved off the club's 40-man roster Monday.
Tomlinson, who divided his season between San Francisco and Triple-A Sacramento, was outrighted to Triple-A along with fellow infielder Miguel Gomez. Both will become Minor League free agents.
Tomlinson batted .207 in 63 games during six separate stints with the Giants this year. In 273 career appearances with San Francisco, he hit .265 with three home runs and 47 RBIs.
The Giants also outrighted utility man Chase d'Arnaud and RHP Casey Kelly to Triple-A. Both opted for Minor League free agency.
Additionally, right-hander Tyler Herb was outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento.
