Verlander's stance: 'Test me every day'
Tigers ace strongly in favor of increased testing for illegal PEDs
Tigers ace Justin Verlander, who has taken one of the strongest stances against the illegal use of performance-enhancing drugs among Major Leaguers, told MLB Network insider Jon Heyman that he would support daily drug testing in the clubhouse.
"Test me every day," Verlander told Heyman in an interview published Thursday.
Verlander has previously said that players who test positive for PEDs should not be allowed to play. He told Heyman that daily testing could be the best deterrent against PED use. MLB's testing program is regarded to be the toughest among the major sports.

"I'm passionate about it," Verlander told Heyman. "This is a great game. I love the challenge of it. But you like to know it's fair."
Verlander told Heyman that he does think MLB is "going in the right direction," and that he is proud that players have argued for increased testing.
