Urias could get spot start before July 1
LOS ANGELES -- Manager Dave Roberts said the club is considering giving Julio Urias a spot start during the Dodgers’ current stretch of 18 consecutive games before the next day off on July 1.
Urias opened the season in the rotation because of injuries to starters Clayton Kershaw and Rich Hill, then was moved into the bullpen in late April to reduce his innings pitched.
“We’re talking about it, maybe.” said Roberts.
Polllock ready to increase activity
Roberts said A.J. Pollock will take the next two weeks to ramp up his baseball activities before needing 45-50 at-bats in a Minor League rehab assignment before he’ll be ready to return from an elbow infection and surgery. He’s been out since April 30.
